Iceland's first pressing plant since 1986 is coming in 2026 to the Iceland Eco-Business Park (https://icelandecobusinesspark.is), near the Keflavik International Airport. The 40-minute press conference was held at Iceland Music on Nov. 7, 2025.
Thermal Beets Records, a startup (https://thermalbeets.is), signed a letter of intent with IEBP to build what will become the world's only geothermal-powered record factory, exclusively manufacturing records made from a 100% fossil-fuel-free material to replace PVC, the standard for vinyl records. Greenpeace considers Polyvinyl Chloride to be the most environmentally harmful plastic.
