This video explains the difference between lacquers and acetates for those who don't know, and then you'll hear a 20+ year old 45rpm lacquer of what was supposed to be side 3 of "Tommy" but was never released.

it's been played dozens of times around the world. There's been no editing, or fixing noise and/or pops and clicks. Just a straight 96/24 transfer.

This is the story of the EMI pressing plant at Hayes — once the beating heart of Britain’s music empire. A place where technology, artistry, and industry collided to shape how the world listened to music.

You’ll see:

Once, from the banks of the Delaware River in Camden, New Jersey, a single factory spoke to the entire nation. This was the RCA Camden Plant — a 58-acre industrial empire that gave America its voice, its music, its radio, its television, and even the technology that carried human words to the Moon. From the rise of Victor Talking Machine and the iconic image of “His Master’s Voice,” to the golden age of radio, television, wartime radar, and space-age communications, this factory stood at the center of American innovation for nearly a century. Then, almost silently, it vanished.
