The Mastering Lab

The Mastering Lab at Acoustic Sounds is an independent mastering facility originally founded by the legendary Doug Sax. The historic facility is currently housed at Blue Heaven Studios in Salina, Kansas, and utilises a rare, hand-built tube-based console and a Neumann VMS70 cutting lathe. The primary mastering engineer is highly respected Grammy-nominated mastering and recording engineer, Matthew Lutthans. He is best known for his work specialising in AAA (all-analogue) vinyl mastering.
