The Earnest Tube
The Earnest Tube is a recording studio in Bristol, Virginia. The studio specialises in the art of direct-to-lacquer (direct-to-disc) recording, using pre-World War II recording technology to capture artists live, much like the legendary 1927 RCA-Victor Bristol Sessions. Engineers Clint Holley and Dave Polster run The Earnest Tube, and their process closely mimics how artists were captured on disc nearly a century ago.
