History of Recorded Sound

Based in Culver City, California, History of Recorded Sound (HRS) is a unique studio and educational nonprofit dedicated to preserving audio recording history through restoration, innovation, and hands-on learning. Founded by Len Horowitz, HRS is one of the only facilities servicing, restoring and preserving analogue recording and audio technologies such as Scully and Neumann vinyl lathes, cutterheads, analogue tape machines and turn-of-the-century record players.
