Hard Wax Berlin
Hard Wax is a Berlin-based record store and one of the world’s leading shops for cutting-edge electronic dance music, such as techno, house, dub, and bass music, founded in December 1989 by Mark Ernestus of Basic Channel. It quickly became a communication hub for the international techno scene and is widely credited with shaping Berlin’s early 1990s techno culture. Hard Wax also played a key role in distributing and championing Detroit techno in Europe.
