New Vinyl Alliance research surveying 2,500+ fans finds Gen Z (18–24) is now the primary driver of vinyl’s growth. 76% buy records monthly, 80% own a turntable, and 87% prioritise sound quality. Gen Z uses social media to build vinyl communities while turning to records as a mindful break from digital life, with 61% replacing digital habits with vinyl for mental wellbeing. After 17 consecutive years of UK sales growth, the Alliance says vinyl has moved beyond “revival” to a full renaissance.
